Special Product Generation and Quality Control Session
Scope
To identify commonly prioritized quality control and product generation
methodologies and organize their introduction to the NORDRAD network. The
event will begin with a half-day course focussed on how new QC and product
generation algorithms may be introduced to the NORDRAD2 software system. There
will also be interaction regarding quality characterization issues as identified
within the framework of COST 717.

Transport
Skyways services Norrköping from
Copenhagen. Swedish railways (SJ) services
Norrköping frequently, as Norrköping is on the main line between
Stockholm and Malmö. There are good daytime connections from Stockholm-Arlanda
by train. There is a special train which connects Arlanda (Terminals 2 and
5) with Stockholm Central Station, called Arlanda Express. Other trains (SJ)
stop at Sky City which is located between Terminals 4 and 5.
Once in Norrköping, SMHI is accessible by the Nr. 3 tram towards "Klockaretorpet".
Ask the conductor to announce the SMHI stop.
Organizing institutes
In addition to the NORDRAD member countries, we warmly welcome participants
from neighboring countries Denmark (DMI),
Estonia (EMHI), Germany (DWD), Latvia (LHMA) and Lithuania (Meteo.lt) Poland (IMGW), and Russia (Roshydromet). We also warmly
encourage interaction with the BALTEX Working Group on Radar, which includes
additional members from the United Kingdom and The Netherlands.

Topics and schedule
The programme is designed to identify a number of key areas for common
work. Each area shall be dealt with in terms of what algorithms are prioritized
and who is able to develop/implement them. The work will then be organized,
and issues related to product quality, as identified by COST 717, will also
be dealt with.
